Oros Villas are two beautiful villas on Crete for rent. Nearby are Rethymnon-Axos, Milopotamos Valley, Ida Mountains, the Unesco Psiloritis Geopark. Villa Olga and Villa Yorgos have a perfect view of the Psiloritis, Crete’s highest mountain (2456m). Both have free WIFI, a shared swimming pool, barbecue, sports field, their own chapel from 1750 and are situated near Axos, a village with a historical centre and a natural water wellspring. The inhabitants are very hospitable and Axos has 7 Byzantine churches over a 1000 years old. Also nearby are villages such as Livadia, Zoniana, Kalyvos and the Diskouri Monastery. In the immediate surroundings are the beautiful caves of Melidoni (Gerontospilos) and Zoniana (Sendoni). Also Knossos/Heraklion is not far away. You can have lovely walks in the Ida Mountains and enjoy real nature. Hiking trails, olive groves and shepherds, ancient churches, monasteries (Vossakos, Arkadi), the famous cooking and wine. In 15 minutes by car you can reach Anogia and see local heroes (Partisans), tapestry and the Nida Plateau (birthplace of Zeus). Also visit the Skinakas Observatory. You can enjoy this very old area of calm, beautiful nature and soak in the authentic Greek island life. You can’tch owls, bats, swallows and hawks nearby, as well as goats and sheep. And grapes of course. Restaurants/taverns, shops, medical assistance (Anogia, Perama) are nearby.
